Mark Baustian and Luce Guanzini established West Hill Biological in 1998 as a resource for teachers committed to excellence and innovation in biology instruction. Mark holds a PhD in Animal Physiology and Luce is an Animal Technologist working with research animals. They believe the lab activities and supplies available through West Hill Biological will excite students, and they are committed to helping you realize the full potential of these extraordinary products in your classroom.

In 2003, West Hill Bio was approached to develop products for (what Mark considers his second favorite science) physics. Now your source for the highly acclaimed lab activites from the Cornell Institute for Biology Teachers (CIBT) and the Center for Nanoscale Systems Institute for Physics Teachers (CIPT) and hands-on laboratory supplies, West Hill Bio is your valued partner in bringing science to life for young learners of all ages.

West Hill Biological is located in beautiful upstate New York, just 25 miles south of Ithaca.

Preserving our unique rural heritage.

We believe that rural America is the root of our national strength. Here our predecessors built the family farms that fed the nation and much of the world for 100's of years. We are committed to the rehabilition and maintenance of the land and infrastructure of the small farm.

Pictured here is our 1947 Dodge truck. This vehicle was originally purchased in Rome, New York and has lived all 56 years and 37,000 miles of its life on New York farms.

The 3rd weekend in July, West Hill goes to the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance in Trumansburg, New York, to support Arts Education and the Fight Against Aids.

For the best in Old-Time, Zydeco, World, Folk, Irish (you just can't imagine the diversity of music). Grassroots truely is a Music Lovers Paradise.

Pictured here is the Bubba George String Band who kick it off on Thursday July 22nd.
